Why I Journal
I sat down a while ago and made a list of reasons why I journal. And why I keep on journaling in every season of life. It’s a delight to teach others how to do the same.
I do it to remember because I can so easily forget.
I do it to give thanks because I’m so often entitled.
I do it to be still and listen because there’s so much noise competing for my attention and when I get quiet, things shift.
I do it to appreciate what I can so easily miss right in front of me.
I do it to dream because it's central to my soul thriving.
I do it to wake up the parts of me that grow weary. Sometimes I don’t even know what those things are until my pen points me there.
I do it to be more true because I don’t want to be fake.
I do it to ponder because curiosity is a key to doors that wait to be opened in wonder.
I do it to question that which needs to change. Inside me and around me.
I do it to find peace.
I do it to find the voice of Love because Love changes everything.
I do it because that’s how some of my deepest prayers have come out.
Plus, I love leather journals. An abnormal amount. I love the smell of paper and the possibilities of a blank page.
I love stationary and I love how creative I feel after I’ve disconnected from technology to go old school. I believe creativity is a vital part of living a wholehearted life.
